Assistant Professor in Theoretical Chemistry
The Department of Chemistry, Aarhus University ([url]www.chem.au.dk[/url]) is looking for a theoretical
chemist for a temporary position (3 years) as Assistant Professor from September 1, 2008
or as soon as possible thereafter.
The position is associated with the Lundbeck Foundation Center for Theoretical Chemistry.
The Department of Chemistry is responsible for research and education in modern chemistry
at Aarhus University. The department hosts a faculty comprising 32 assistant,
associate and full professors, 37 technical and administrative assistants
and more than five hundred students.
The Assistant Professor is expected to participate in research activities at
the Lundbeck Foundation Center for Theoretical Chemistry.
The successful applicant must be able to participate in the development of
quantum mechanical theories and computational methods for the description of
molecular systems with many degrees of freedom, in particular
quantum molecular dynamics and the interface between electronic structure
and dynamics calculations.
The applicant is also expected to participate in the general duties of the
Lundbeck Foundation Center for Theoretical Chemistry and to contribute
to the teaching within the field of the position.
The successful applicant must be able to provide ample documentation
for a strong research profile within the field.
Important considerations will be the ability of the candidate to collaborate
with the other members of the Lundbeck Foundation Center for Theoretical Chemistry
and its collaborators.

Salary depends on seniority as agreed between the Danish Ministry of Finance
and the Confederation of Professional Unions.
