Subject: 08.09.11 Computational Chemist / Protein Modeller at Biovitrum, Stockholm, Sweden.
The Research Department at Biovitrum is responsible for development of clinical candidates and
the pre-clinical project portfolio including both therapeutic protein and small molecule
projects. Computational Chemistry and Modelling is a section within the Research department
and is an integrated part of the drug discovery process.
The Computational Chemistry and Modelling section participates in target identification,
design and modelling of proposed therapeutic proteins as well as small molecule modelling
using both ligand based and structure based drug design tools.
The section is not only working in close collaboration with Biochemists and
Medicinal chemists but also with in vitro and in vivo Pharmacologists, DMPK experts and our
Patent Department.
Biovitrum now has an open position in the Computational Chemistry and Modelling section
and is seeking a candidate who has knowledge of protein modelling and state of the art
in silico methods.
A deep understanding of therapeutic proteins is appreciated as well as hands-on experience
in supporting Biochemists in protein engineering and design.
Furthermore, it would be an advantage if the candidate also had knowledge of in silico tools
for small molecule modelling and experience from collaboration with Medicinal chemists.
The ideal candidate will also be able to make a significant contribution to the target
discovery work of both therapeutic proteins and small molecules.
The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Computational Chemistry, Molecular Modelling or equivalent.
Experience from the drug discovery industry and / or post doc experience is highly merited.
Since we work in a dynamic matrix, excellent team player qualities are required as well as
strong communication skills to present scientific results to project teams.
