POSTDOCTORAL POSITION IN COMPUTATIONAL NANOBIOTECHNOLOGY
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research scientist to work in
computational nanobiotechnology at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The position will
involve research in theoretical nanobiochemistry with particular emphasis on
molecular dynamics. Specific tasks would include molecular dynamics computer
modeling of translocation of biomolecules through nanopores and nanotraps,
electrophoresis, the finite elements nanodesign. Additional tasks might include
electron transport/tunneling through biomolecules subject to electric bias, large
computational chemistry calculations. The initial appointment will be for a period
of one year, renewable upon mutual consent to two or more years. The position is
available starting immediately. Successful candidate will work at Oak Ridge National
Laboratory, and also collaborate with scientists of Yale University on the
development of a device for fast DNA sequencing.
Applicant are expected to have a PhD degree in physics, chemistry, biology or
related discipline, with experience compatible to the research tasks. A proven
research ability, evidence of research potential, the ability to work both
independently and cooperatively with others, and demonstrated written and oral
communication skills are highly desirable. Strong personal motivation and proven
ability to work in a team environment are also required. Applicants should send,
